Have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt the energy?

Before anyone said a word, you could sense whether it felt light and peaceful — or heavy and tense.

Our energy speaks long before our words ever do.

And it’s not just about moods or emotions.

It’s about presence — the way we show up, the tone we carry, and the invisible signal that says, “This is how I’m doing inside.”

We’re always communicating, even without words. Our energy tells a story — whether we’re grounded or hurried, open or guarded, grateful or overwhelmed. 

When we’re feeling magnetic, it shows. And when we’re feeling out of alignment, that’s evident too. People might not know exactly what’s off, but they can feel it. We can sense this in others, too. It’s fascinating, when you think about it. 

The beautiful part? The moment we become aware that our energy is off, we hold the power to change the story — not for others, but for ourselves. With something as simple as a single pause and an intentional breath, we can choose to step into a new, elevated frequency.


When Life Feels Scattered: Noticing the Shift in Your Energy

I’ve noticed it in myself. You probably have noticed this in yourself, too…

When I rush through the morning, skip essential parts of my routine, and run out the door with my mind already five steps ahead (or behind), my energy feels scattered all day.

But when I catch myself in those moments and choose to slow down — take a few deep breaths, roll an essential oil on my wrists, whisper a quick thank you for all the goodness in my life — things begin to shift.

And on days when I intentionally take things slow — not in an effort to recalibrate my energy, but to have agency over it in the first place — that’s when the real magic happens.

Either way, when my energy feels right, I move with more peace. I respond instead of react. My to-do list seems lighter. Dynamics in my home feel lighter. Everything feels lighter. I feel lighter.

We are way more powerful than we realize. 

We can’t control everything that happens in life (although the energy that we operate in can sometimes play a part, as “like attracts like”) — but we can control how we respond. And there is a lot of power in that!


Creating a Peaceful Home with Intention and Essential Oils

This past weekend, we hosted a gathering at our home for my older daughter’s field hockey team and their families. While I appreciated the compliments we received about our home, the decor, etc., I may have most enjoyed people’s comments on how wonderful it smelled, lol!

I smiled as I let those compliments land, because it wasn’t just about people enjoying the scents — it was about so much more. I knew they were also benefiting from the energy that the essential oils were carrying. 

I had oils diffusing that I love, the ones that make me feel grounded, open, and calm. That sense of balance in the air? It came from intention. I had curated different aromas for different spaces, which is something I do all the time for myself and my family. It was so wonderful to have others experience it too!

When our environment feels peaceful, we feel peaceful. And that energy lingers — in the way people breathe deeper, laugh easier, and feel safe to be themselves.


Simple Ways to Reset and Protect Your Energy Daily

There are so many small yet powerful ways to protect and reset your energy:

✨ Take a pause before you respond in sticky situations. This can feel like a challenge in the moment, but can have huge payoffs. 

✨ Start your morning with gratitude instead of scrolling. I made this life change a few months ago and it has had a profound impact on the way I start my day. If you’re seeking more intention with screen time, I recommend the BePresent app.

The truth is, we don’t have to say much to make an impact. When our energy is grounded, grateful, and aligned — people feel it. And we feel it!

The next time you walk through a doorway, imagine it as a little “portal.” As you step through, take a deep breath, straighten your posture, and picture yourself entering a new state of mind — calmer, clearer, and more you. Have fun with it, and notice how your energy shifts!
