Steps for Healthy Skin


Our skin is the largest organ of our body, which means that it is where we detox so much of what we put IN & ON our bodies. Having healthy skin has a lot more to do with how we treat our whole body than what skincare products we use (although that is important too!). Here are my top five tips for healthy skin & some steps you can take to change your skin (and yes, it’s possible!)

1. Drink more water! Yep, it’s that simple! I’ve seen amazing before & after photos of people who commit to drinking more water every day for 30 days. You wouldn’t believe the results! The rule of thumb is to drink 1⁄2 an ounce for every pound you weigh. So if you weigh 120 lbs, drink 60 oz of water per day. If you aren’t doing near that amount, work your way up! You can do it! Get a cute bottle or tumbler to make it fun!

2. Cut down on sugar, processed foods, dairy, & fried foods. All of these things must be detoxed from your body, and it often happens on your skin in the form of acne & a dull complexion. This isn’t an overnight change, but making intentional choices with your diet will have a huge payoff in so many health areas, including your skin.

3. Manage Stress! Uncontrolled stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. To encourage healthy skin — and a healthy state of mind — take steps to manage your stress. Get enough sleep, set reasonable limits, scale back your to-do list and make time to do the things you enjoy. The results might be more dramatic than you expect!

4. Treat your skin gently. Here are some tips:

- Limit bath time. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm — rather than super hot — water. I am a huge fan of a long. steamy shower before bed, but I always turn the temperature down before washing my face. This reduces redness significantly!

- Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps and detergents can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers. I'll be sharing more soon about some products that I love.

- Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin.

- Moisturize dry skin. If your skin is dry, use a moisturizer that fits your skin type. For daily use, consider a moisturizer that contains SPF. 

5. Choose clean ingredients for your skincare & makeup! Skip products with artificial fragrance, colors, parabens, and other ingredients that not only have links to skin problems, but also endocrine disruption, which results in hormonal imbalances that can throw off so many other areas of your life - weight, sleep, cycle, mood swings, etc. Yikes!!! I used to use really pricey skin care products (assuming they were the best) and was shocked to find out the dangers of some of the ingredients. It was a huge wakeup call for me!

😬 Stress Less: OH YES! 😍


I don’t know about you, but this is the time of year when my nerves get a bit frazzled and I tend to feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. 

I also know that when I intentionally practice some stress management techniques, I feel halfway human again. Here are some great tips for you...


You may realize that you are experiencing stress because you feel more irritable, fatigued, less motivated, or overwhelmed. You may also get sick more easily or your sleep is off. First, it's important to see it, so you can do something to help yourself!

Stress Less Tip: Don't forget to diffuse your oils or apply them on your wrists, ears, and over the heart. Stress Away, Joy, Valor, and Peace & Calming are a few of my faves. 

What oil can you carry with you to use when you recognize stress? I want to encourage you to look through your oil stash & see what can work for you!

Even though it may feel impossible during busy times, stopping for a few minutes to do absolutely nothing may be the perfect recharge that your body and brain need.

Get out and move as part of your break. This doesn't have to be strenuous exercise. Simple, natural movement can be highly effective. A walk or quick stretch can do a world of good! Sniff some Peppermint or prep a drink with AminoWise + NingXia Red to help keep you motivated.


This may sound weird if you’ve never studied this before… but going barefoot and/or lying on the ground relaxes and restores our nervous system to its natural, optimal state. The best time to do this is right before bed, but it can be done anytime! Don’t be afraid to go out even if it’s cold. A quick trip outside can have a significant impact!

While outside, practice “Square Breathing” with Frankincense oil or another tree oil. Hold the bottle up to your nose and breathe in for a count of 4, hold your breath for 4, breathe out for 4, and pause for 4. Let me know how it feels when you try this! I’d love to hear what you think. 😊


Boundaries are so important because, without them, we lose sight of who we are and what our purpose is. When you decide to set a boundary, those in your life may be surprised, shocked, or even try to undermine them. Keep remembering why you set that boundary in the first place. This can take some time before it feels comfortable, but it’s worth it. You’re worth it!

Here are some other tips about setting boundaries:
  • Learn how freeing it is to say "No" or "Not right now"
  • Detach from work and electronics when you are at home or with loved ones
  • Manage your time through a timer when working on a to-do list
Apply Believe essential oil and say: "I can choose who and how I want to be in each new moment."

Lastly, I'd like to give a shoutout to ✨ GRATITUDE. ✨

This, by far, must be the thing that helps me the most in times of stress (and in everyday life as well). When I'm feeling all of the big emotions (anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, etc), I redirect my thoughts to all the goodness in my life. This takes a bit of training your brain to be able to do this, but it's 100% effective. There is always something to be grateful for. 💜

💣My Best Success Tips💣

I hope your Thanksgiving was so lovely! I am feeling beyond grateful for this incredible life I get to live.  I am feeling the holiday spirit; so without further adieu, I want to give you the gift of success this year. Keep reading for my best tips, wrapped up all nice and neat! Then, you'll have to let me know what you think!

I have been thriving in the entrepreneurial space for a few years now, and not without some serious lessons learned along the way. My first little golden nugget of wisdom:

Don't re-invent the wheel.

I tell this to the leaders that I train all the time. If it is already done, use it! Don't make your life harder by trying to do it all instead of taking advantage of third party resources.
 
Okay, my second piece of advice, are you ready?

Building a business is 80% mindset. 

Please, listen to me right now, you can't build an empire while doubting yourself and refusing to grow through what you go through. DON'T MISS THIS: You can't only focus on personal development. The 20% is so important, you absolutely have to take action!!! However, action with doubt is as good as inaction. 

This book is a great read, and it's action steps really grew me as a leader. I highly recommend checking it out, if you need a place to start working on abundance mindset & personal development. 

Last, but not least, my third piece of wisdom! 

Every day, without fail, make the choice that supports the life you want to live.

What I mean is, set your eyes on your future and don't stop until you are living the dream. Every single decision you make day in and day out should mirror the life you want to live. If you want financial freedom, make the choice to keep your head down and work today despite what others are doing. If you want to have an empire, decide today what choices get you one step closer, then take those steps.
